Nat Vazer - Struggletown - Lyrics :
I heard you were struggling in Struggletown
Where the sun is always out
But everybody's up and down
I hear the water's nice and warm but deceivingly blue
And it's not too far from where we are
They tell me I'm supposed to go there too
I want to be with you
I want to go there too
But it's not the kind of trip for two
Oooooh Ooh
Oooooh Ooh
Endless days from nine till five and five till death (from five till death)
Long island ice teas on the house, he says you'll need another round
But something's rising in the air, you smell the fear
And they all pretend like nothing's wrong
But you just can't keep going on in here
She puts her cigarette out
Said darling you should run now
Or else you're never getting out
Oooooh Ooh
Oooooh Ooh
And from nine till five, and five till death
You'll never get the chance to rest
But you've got places you need to be
And miles to go before you sleep...
And miles to go before you sleep...
From nine till five, from five till DIE
I heard you were struggling in Struggletown
I heard you were struggling in Struggletown...
The backing tracks on this album have seen serious improvement since Hatchie's debut, and the tracks have more variety. I'm not sure if there's been much improvement on the vocals, but overall this is a better (and longer!) showing from this artist. CyanStrawberry
Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
Still Clean is a close second for favorite track, this album is one of my favorites of all time. It brings me back to reality while making me feel greater than I could ever be. parsley-parcel
